10 K really isnt bad if its in good shape being a 2002, for some reason people think if they have over 80 K miles on them they should be given to them

**** that. 7k and no more. The only reason I say 7k is because it's an '02... otherwise I would pay less. If it hasn't had the proper maintenance done to it, it's going to start falling apart. And I would not say a 40 year old woman is the proper person to do the required maintenance unless she is hardcore into cars, which is unlikely.

If it has some dings and interior is slightly messed up Id say less, but all im sayin is that ive seen cars with blown engines go for 5-6 K so the odds of finding one in good condition for 7 k aint goin to happen, and just remember just b/c it has over 100K doesnt mean its goin to fall apart, people have a mindset that American cars fall apart after 100 K but thats not true, Mine has 125 K on it and actually runs better then my other LS1 with 65 K on it, all depends on maintance

The problem with that is you don't know the maintenance on a car with 100k on it. Who really knows? Unless it was some old guy that had all the maintenance done at a dealership and had paperwork for everything. That is too unlikely though.

After a more thorough description of the car, I wouldn't pay much more than 7000 for it. I don't know if your heart is set on an 01-02, but there are much better cars than that for sale, just look around the classifieds here.

If she told you the timing "belt" needed to be replaced, find out which mechanic told her that and him.

haha i know, i was pumped being a 01 and a 6 speed, the miles to be honest dont bother me so much but if i go to sell it in a few years it will have like 120 on it, and there will be no value left to it, so i think if i buy antoher car again i will get lower miles, then when i got to resale it it will still hold more of a value, hopefully im making sense lol

Her telling you the "timing belt" needs to be replaced worries me greatly... that would make me steer away from buying that car. I doubt she did proper maintenance to it because it shows she knows nothing about it due to the fact that it has a timing CHAIN, not a belt.

No thanks. Look elsewhere, pal. There are much better cars for the price. I bought mine with 56000 miles for $12.5k and that was pretty high.
