Default brake caliper piston came out?

IS this normal? The piston is completely out, I can hold the medal piston in my hand. Can I just get the tool and push it back in? I tried with my hands to get it back in and there was no chance of that happening. Any suggestions of what to do?

had this happen on my ole lady's car once, tried to get the piston back in but just went and bought a new one to save the pita levels from getting to high. if you need a new front caliper i have a set off of my 01 Z28 i'd be glad to let go for ~$20 if you wanna come to fort worth to get it.

Thanks!

If the piston is aligned properly, it will go back in by using finger pressure.

Open the brake bleader before you try to put it back in and it should slide right in.
