Big cube motors mainly. A stout heads and cam 346 can benefit greatly as well.

Well, yes good for FI. You are afterall moving more air. Also good for nitrous. Most people are afraid that they are going to blow the burst panel on the FAST with FI so they will get a sheetmetal intake or a Weiand/Holley.

A LS6 intake and ported throttle body will not touch the Fast setup on any car that has more than the basic boltons. FI, nitrous, h/c, big cubes....the fast will shine way above a LS6 setup.

There is obviously better setups for serious applications...but for the middle of the road 400-500 hp...the Fast is the way to go.

From what I have read and been told from many professionals, the 90/90 is only a small amount better than an ls6 intake (approximately 8-12 cfm on intake or ~10hp) However, a ported ls6 will outflow/outperform the FAST slightly. Still, the FAST is a great intake for an ls1 and when ported, its probably the best on the market with the exception of sheetmetal.

*By the way, dont think i'm against the FAST intake, I'm a big fan.

I'll tell you Thursday when I dyno. I had a LS6 intake and a stock Jantzer-ported throttle body with stock MAF. It's definitely a change because my car is a tad louder since my F.A.S.T. 90/90 setup went on ... that tells me it's allowing a lot more air ... once it's tuned, I hope to see about 10-15 RWHP, though, some people on here see 20-25 or more.

I added a 90mm MAF a few days later because it allows more CFM screened than the ported stock TB unscreened, which means the airflow with be smoother .... FWIW.

A ported FAST 90/90 will outperform an LS6/ported TB through the entire RPM range on a 346 motor. Check out Patrick G's plot for the Mamo ported FAST that he installed with a CheaTR cam, you will see exactly this. There are many other posts with the same results. Its not just for big cubes.

I recommend the Fast even with a mild combo. My airflow increased from 0.86g/cyl to 0.95g/cyl with no other change other than the Fast90/90 combo.
Thats like a 9% increase in airflow at peak torque. I expect a similar increase in power. ~30-40bhp.
Ill post up the gains as I did a before dyno with the LS6.

Where did you read this...and what the hell shop told you that. Like I previously stated....The LS6 will probably be best suited with basic boltons. Anything past that, then the Fast setup will outperform the LS6 hands down throughout the curve. The more the mods, the more the Fast will shine.

The fast is great for big cubes, large H/C packages, and N2O or a combination of them. It will work on some FI setups but isn't reliable on high boost applications. I know of a few that have come aprt during boost. LS6, LS2, Carb, or sheetmetal intakes are better for boost.

As someone who works on these types of cars EVERYDAY, I would say the LS6 is the best UNTIL you hit about 500hp. The gains you receive under 450HP are not sufficient enough to ration spending $600 more on an intake. But Mike is absolutely correct. When you start throwing 500+ HP to the car then you need the extra air flow. Don't be mistaken and buy the 78mm TB and Intake b/c only a fool wanting to throw his money down the drain would waste money like that. Only way to go with the FAST would be 90/90 and heck the Nick Williams 90mm TB is actually prob. a better combo than the FAST 90/90 setup. Just IMO, hope this helps a little.

I think the point is.......the Fast WILL outperform a LS6 intake and ported throttle body on any car past a bolt on car. A cam only, H/C, big cube, nitrous, cam nitrous...etc...............the Fast is a proven better performer.

Now...is it worth the money? Well that is up to the individual. Depends on how bad he wants that extra 15-25 extra hp. But the Fast is without a doubt a better performer...hands down.

Well ... getting anxious to prove that mike#9. Thursday morning will tell the tale ... new FAST 90/90 with a brand new SLP 90mm MAF ... new MTI clear lid to go with it. I'll put up the dyno's Thursday and I have a really good feeling about it ... keepin' the MAF screened for smoother airflow. Mike Norris is my tuner and he'll tune 'er to safe numbers. No jack-legging the dynojet or tricking the PCM ... just straight-up Mike Norris tuning ... as compared to my last dyno session with Mike. 15+ RWHP and 3+ RWTQ and I'm happy, but, I think 20-25 HP and 10+ TQ is very likely on a conservative/safe tune.
