Midwestern Members - What we do in the winter time when we can't go out drag racing...

We go snowmobiling!!! My brother and I have been riding all weekend since Friday night. Our race sled, a Mach Z 800 was messed up last season in a crash. It broke several parts including the front control arms, shocks, and skis. It should be back up & running by next weekend. Here are some pics of all three of our sleds and two videos.

Ill have to get some pics/vids of my sled. 01 Polaris 550 super sport. its a little sled, but it gets me through the drifts. for $1000 3 years ago, and no problems later i cant complain.

Sweet. I love the two formulas we have. Very low maintenance and very reliable. Only problem I've had is that I blew a rear shock coming off of a big jump.

The Mach Z is high maintenance and very touchy. We're putting a turbo on it this summer though and plan on drag racing it :D

Hell yeah it is. They run mid to low 10s stock so imagine doubling the horsepower with a turbo... :devil:

I do donuts & figure 8's in parking lots in the Z. Don't act like you all never did it;) LOL

like i told you i bought my 2006 arctic cat F7 a couple weeks ago.

last week I wrecked it pretty bad at 80 mph up on the chain. my left arm is in a sling, fractured my shoulder:(

I have to go get the sled in the next day or two, it might be totaled, it flipped end over end a few times. I hit a clipped a tree stump that was in the ice. we were moving pretty fast b/c it was nite and there was alot of water holes out there, easier to be moving fast when you hit water rather than have to worry about gassing it to cross the water holes.

thats awsome matt, makes me wish i was still with my ex g/f because she had a couple of those and always wanted to go out riding, but then i rember how much of a crazy bitch she was, im happy with my hooters girl. :)

That sucks man, you just got that. I wrecked up in Minoqua a few years back. Had the sled roll back over on top of me. It was not fun. Glad to see you're still alive though. I have lost way too many friends on them. Riding on the ice/open water is fun, but can be dangerous. Let me know if you need any help putting it back together.

I miss my sleds. I had a Nitrous drag sled and a few trail sleds.

Now I just spend time making the car faster.

yeah with this snow storm coming i might try to go pick it up tonite so i don't have to worry about it later.

not sure what i'll do if it is totaled, might buy a new one, might not i dunno. i can just pull the studs,carbides, and riser off it and swap that to a new one.

I have seen them run anywhere from high tens to low 10s depending on driver, weather, and model year. And Mach Z 800 not the MXZ800

yeah they are a lot of fun.. last year was a bad year though. while my dad was out of town, some1 stole our trailer with 2 snowmobiles and 2 jet skis (it was outside b/c he was going to take them to storage) and the shitty part was it was between 12 and 4 during the day!!!!!

I have a 99 Yamaha SRX700 with a tad bit of work done to it. Its got cut heads, 17* squish, clutched, ported clylinders adn Hauck Silencer. 144 studs. Havnt ridden it much this year, just got a Factory Team yamaha Race box from 98 when they had there snow x team, but havnt had time to install it yet :-)

well i went and got my junk last nite.
took it to rte 12 arctic cat and they looked at it. the sled is ok. just a little tweaked in the tunnell and they replaced the brake resevoir that got busted off in the crash.
I'm going to patch up the windshield and hood tonite, not gonna worry about that for now.

I brought it with me back my office. decided to make sure the brakes work, was riding it around here. I guess my CEO looked out his window just in time to see me carrying the skis a few feet in the air about 2 feet away from his window:D amazing how calm he was about that one lol. plow truck driver showed up to clear the lot and i was buzzing around him lol.

wasn't easy doing that with my left shoulder fractured but screw it, i'm gonna go out and play in all this fresh snow later tonite

powder was FUN tonite. went out blasting around for a few hours. actually ran into two other guys doing the same thing which suprised the hell out of me around here so we busted drifts together for awhile.
i got fucking stuck in a big hole right next to the fire station, i was fucked..couldn't move it with this fractured shoulder. 3 firefighters saw me and pulled me out with a truck and a tow strap:D

i love the look on my neighbors faces when they are letting the dog out and i whip down the street at 75 mph lol. i even have a little lake on my street that has an open water hole in the middle, so crossed some water tonite too:D

Really? you guys got no snow in Merrill, I know a few people going up to Rhinelander over the weekend. Supposly they have only 8 inches but the trails are great.
