My sister has a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am, and it is having a hell of a time starting. To give the best description possible, this is what it does:
I turn the key over and hold it over.
it tries to turn over slowly ...... rurrr....rurrrr...
then all of a sudden it starts.....RURRRRR
then idles.
the problem is, it will take sometimes 10 seconds to start in this cold Michigan weather. Sometimes it doesn't start at all. I have had the alternator tested and one place says it is bad because it is only putting out around 13.5v, but Autozone says it is good because a green light came on on their machine....
Do you think it is the alternator? battery? starter? :bang:
Any help is greatly appreciated in advance........
