installed intake, car ran rich.
hey i got my ls6 intake put on and buttoned up yesterday, and all i did was put the throttle body on and connect the throttle cable and the sensors to it. i left my lid off and the IAT sensor and the MAF sensor plugs hanging there,
the car ran but it smoked alot and after running for like 30 seconds the headers were very hot. which tells me it was rich.
i just figure that because those 2 sensors were unplugged, the computer just gave it a ton of fuel. am i right?

Well with the MAF unplugged it went into speed density mode and with the IAT unplugged it assumes the air is really cold and dumps more fuel. It would run richer because of the unplugged IAT. Your headers got really hot because there are hot combustion gases traveling through them. Quit being a dumb *** and plug the sensors back in.

damn^^^^^^if you knew the sensors werent plugged in and your car ran terribly why wouldnt you plug the sensors in and check **** before posting. Did you look at your egt gauge to tell if your exhaust was out of the norm or were you just saying the headers were hot. Mine are hot when i start my car...wether its rich or lean

i ran it with the sensors unconnected because the tb was coming right back off, so putting on the lid and everything would be too much hassle to just pull it back off 2 minutes later. know what i mean? and all i wanted to do was spark it and see if it started. i didnt think it would matter to have the car run for 30 seconds without 2 sensors hooked up.
