Default How much power on stock botom end+rod bolts

Just wondering how much power people are making on the stock bottom end. Also wondering how much guys that have upgraded just the rod bolts are making wanting to know what it takes to really break the ls1 because of too much power.

stop at 500-550. rod bolts are more or less insurance, or a band-aid. dont really allow you to "add" a certain amount of power

yes, but mine was purely because of a shitty tune. nothing to do with component strength

however, with a great tune. 500-550 is pushing it. people have done more and are still running strong. they are lucky

I'll be pushing mine to around 600rwhp. From What I've read, thats pushing it. I make 408rwhp with my cam and 6.0 heads and will be running around 9 psi. It's not my DD so when it breaks it will sit until I have the money to do the block. Alot of people get away with it, it's just a matter of how long it lasts.

the big killer is rpm's not so much horse power dont get me wrong
im not saying you try to put a ton of power down and not worry
but the higher you spin the rpm's the more stress you put on the rod
bolts i know a few people my self as well that are putting 600+ down
and have been for a while and dont spin the motor past 5800 and
havent had a problem yet but my sugestion is arp has just come
out with a set of cracked rod bolts for the stock cracked rods

looks like people throw ringlands on pistons from running to lean, and throw a rod from over rev.

solution: always have a nice air/fuel, DONT OVER REV, forged pistons, and strong rod bolts.

well thats my plan at least

Been running numbers in sig for awhile now....shifting at 6300. Have been to 6850 two times at the track trying to get a 10 with my street DR's but was still hitting the rev limiter at the top end of the track.
My AFR is pig rich, in the low 10's until about 6000 due to the meth.

i heard 98 ls1 rod bolts are weaker! also if your so concerned just buy them .. less than 100 bucks also i was just searching to see how hard they are to install .. if you can drop the pan and turn motor or and somehow change them ! who knows!! im basically using my 98 ls1 m6 setup for drifting so i will be reving 5 to 6k in 2nd and 3rd gear in drifts so well see. i dont wana break some bolts and be out for the season and have to rebuild. so i may end up doing the rod bolts before!

Mark ask Mike brown how much a stock engine can take and how high you can spin it lol.
some rod bolts will help you out and anyonther upgrades to your engine.
most has to do with tuning and octane

I have heard the same about 98 rod bolts thats why i asked about it with upgraded rod bolts. May have to throw a set in there.
