Default Any kind of recourse for Exxon giving me water instead of GAS?

The shop says we'll have to drain it completely and clean the tank. How much of a hassle is it? I'd rather not worry about it and let the damn shop do it, but, of course, it'd cost a lot for them to do it.

Yeah, I might talk to the owner and see if he'll just hook me up with a free tank. I've never had a problem there before in the last 6 years or so.

Well if there is gas in your fuel, its prob not the petroleum supplier, its probably the tanks at the gas station.

Or their underground tanks are leaking in ground water. That's bad news for them.

They are financially responisble for replacing your stuff. Make sure you have your reciept, and a quote from the mechanic. If they refuse to pay up, then tell them your gonna call someone and have them come out there and stick their tanks, and then your gonna go to the news.

Some stations have been known to add water to their underground tanks in order to make more profit.

You could call Harris County Pct. 1 Enviromental Crimes Unit (my dads an investigator for them) and report the station's address and they will monitor it, etc.

The shop wants to charge $400 to drain the tank and clean it out completely. I don't think I kept the receipt from the time I bought the gas, but I did use my Dad's debit card. Would that be good enough?
