How hard is it to transfer an LS1 engine out of a camaro into a 92 Caprice?
I was thinking that since i am getting a new LS2 engine for my camaro, that maybe i should transfer it into the 92 Cprice i drive. One of the valves went on the cylinder heads and it leaks oil once in a while. Nothing too bad though. I mean i still got a lot more miles left in the engine. But i was wondering if anyone knew how much it may cost to transfer my current LS1 stock engine into the Caprice and if there is anything else needed to make the process work? I mean, would i need a new tranny for the caprice? Or anything else for that matter? I mean if it costs more than like $3000.00, i might just disrgard the whole thing, but i was thinking if my stock LS1 engine is in perfect condition with 40K miles on it, why not switch out the old LT? Engine thats in the caprice with it. But if its too troublesome, i may just run the caprice into the ground til i get a new car.

cant be that bad....ive heard of some caprice's with 572's 540's and a wagon with a crazy motor and procharger pushin around 1100hp....so it can be done...ask around in the conversion/hybrid area of this site...youll probably get more responses....maybe someone has already done it
