Default help my car is reading -39 degrees

my engine coolant temp senor circut high. my car is burning to much fuel. It is not the sensor because i replaced the sensor twice. what shall i do. I have 2002 heads on a 98 please help. the codes is p0118

i needed the one with 3 wires not 2 but i got the one with the 3 wires and it is still doing the same thing. what shall i do

Check your grounds first. If the drivers head ground on the back side connection isnt solid it will cause weird electrical issues.

Hey bro try doing a search. I remeber reading about a guy who did a header install and had this problem. Im pretty sure that his ECT needed to be replaced. The sensor is on the driver side head.

You can find some detailed instructions here. First thing, verify the wiring is good by jumping the circuit and verify the output through a scan tool. See steps 4 & 5 in the link above.
