Default hmmm...wet spark plug, pretty nasty

Pulled out cyl 8 spark plug and it was pretty damn damp. I wanted to see your thoughts, but here are mine....let me know what you think.

1)bad plug, just not firing well enough to clean itself/fire all fuel off

2)fuel injector, I dont know if a fuel injector could be leaking out or something causing this

3)maybe some other fluid is getting in there, like oil, and it made it shitty (maybe just sucking it in through the intake or whatever).

I just put a new set in and I am going to pull that cyl again and take a look. The car felt a lot stronger, esp on the bottom end, definitely had more pickup. Just looking for some thoughts. I could get a pic if needed, but the plug is pretty black.

I just got done logging, but I dont have a WB on that bank. The car was hot as I just made some WOT runs. The car did not feel like it had a miss, it had to be firing, just not strong I would assume.

And how could it be the tune if the other plugs are fine? Ya cant just tune one cylinder.

I think people just say tune as a default answer or something without having a real idea..

A pic of the plug would really help here. If its wet it could be from worn valve oil seals, leaky head gasket letting coolant into that cylinder, or a slightly stuck open injector.

well if 1 cylinders plug fouled out or the wire has high kv then it wont have enough burn time to clear the cylinder.

Swap the #8 injector to the #1 hole, and the #8 coil pack/wire to the #2 hole, see where it follows to.

If it doesn't follow to either, it's either the wiring up to the #8 cylinder injector, the #8 cylinder coil pack, or something internal.

Yeah I am going to keep an eye on it, and that is what I will do. I was just talking to my grandfather about that. I really feel its a plug after checking again. The car runs well now, a noticeable difference (which I thought was odd it would be noticeable). I just pulled the plug after a 35 min drive (similar to what I did earlier today) and it looked just like any other plug. It is hard to see if there is a crack in the plug or anything, so the only way to find out is to keep checking it out. I guess it could be possible the injector leaks just sometimes, but who knows. If the problem is still there I will swap things. Just didn't know if you guys had any other ideas.

Thanks

Possible, injectors are brand new, so I would hope they are good and havent got junk in them lol I changed my plugs over the summer and saw no signs of this stuff.

Well, it’s been too long to remember honestly. I wish I did a better job back then of updating my posts.

I am going to guess it was just a cracked plug. That motor had issues after pushing the stock bottom too hard and some dumb trials, but #7 was the problem child. The car made good power up until I had some catch can issues, which I believe contributed to my issues. At least the timing was right when I started having excess blowby. That was spring 2008, a year after this post. I made the most power and had my fastest track runs early 2008. The only change on #8 was a plug (maybe wire at some point).
