Default will a 275/55/ r16 tire fit, stock formula

probably going to step up on tire size (diameter) from my 26" mickey thompson drag radial to a M & H 28" drag radial.

the 255/50/16 mickeys fit fine. will the 275/55/16's fit fine also with no rubbing or issues? i would think that small difference wouldn't matter but when spending ~400$ on a set of tires i figured i'd check.

OR anybody running a 28" tire on stock suspension/wheels with no issues? the car does sag a bit in the rear when launching so i dunno if there will be rubbing issues or not.

There is a guy in the drag racing section a few weeks ago that mounted a 12.5X28 on a 16in wheel. I know an 11.5 / 28 fits.

You need adjustable LCAs and will most likely have to trim a little (easy).

You will rub the bottom part of the rear fender, sometimes in the front, sometimes in the back. The adjustable LCA will help you center the tire inside the wheelwell so it won't rub on either (hopefully).

See how close it is in the back? With a good pair of scissors you can trim out some of it so it won't rub. No one would ever notice.

so i guess it isn't gonna work without also buying control arms?? i have no problem trimming the rear part of the bumper but don't feel like buying lca's and playing around with all of that.

anybody know for sure if it will rub in the front? or i guess maybe every car is a tad different, but wondering if anybody with stock lca's running 28" ers' or *** it im just gonna buy another set of 26" ers'

just measured with a tape measure, it LOOKS like i have roughly 1.75-2" of clearance on the front of each side of the car. back is almost the same maybe closer to 1.75" or 1.6". if im running the 26" tire right now (actually they are advertised as 26.4") then im looking at roughly 2" per side of growth- 1" in the front of the tire and 1" in the rear- seems like it'll be allright.

dunno though, somebody tell me if im wrong about my measurements.

guess i'll update if i buy the 28"ers'.
