Anyone who owns a TCI converter...
Do any of you guys have bad vibrations around 4k rpm? This is my second TCI converter in the car (Breakaway 2400 and a SSF3500) and they have both had the same issue!! It's a bit ridiculous in my opinion. I have swapped it out with the stocker and the vibration is not there. They claim their converters are tripple tested, but im on number 2 with the same problem!!

I have heard that the older TCI converters are better for some reason. I dont know what the heck the deal is with these things. My last one stopped locking up after about 9 months of use and always had a bad vibration. Now this one has a vibration and i wonder if im going to have the same lock up problem as the last one in coming months...

I've been daily driving for four months on my TCI converter and the shudder only seems to happen when the converter is locked up, or lack of it. So when i go into overdrive, at either 45mph or 65(highway), it always vibrates and feels like im running over the reflectors on the road. The problem seems to be getting worse and i started a thread about it before reading this one.

My old TCI SF3000 was dead smooth, which I only noticed
after swapping to the present one. TCI does claim (or did)
to spin balance their converters. I wonder if it's true.
Lockup is not the TCI 10" converters' strong suit. You ought
to see about firming up the commanded lockup pressure if
you're able, it might let it last a while longer.

Mine works just fine. The sad thing is that TCI used to have one of the best reputations around here. Kevin Winstead @ TCI used to post here a lot back in the day and was always really helpful. I never see him post here anymore though. Everything I have read the last year or so makes me never want to put another TCI converter in my car.
I'm considering myself luckly at this point and when the time comes for a new converter I think I'll be giving Yank a call. Sorry to hear about your converter issues and good luck.
