My wife has a 97 celica GT that I've tried to get her to get rid of but, no luck. Now she wants to fix it up and make it faster. Unfortunately, I know NOTHING about toyota engines or aftermarket performance.
Now most here claim to hate anything import but, I bet most people have experience or know where to look for good info. Any ideas? :barf:
On the plus side I ordered my GMMG today WHOOO HOOO!!!

Just log into some import forums and ask them. I know there are Supra forums out there.

Put a 35 shot on it and tell her it's a 150.

Be careful that hundred shot of NOS doesn't blow the welds on the intake!
Otherwise you and the mad scientist got to rip apart the block... and replace the piston rings you fried. :jest:

It is a 3 step process:
1) Drive to Grand Canyon
2) Get out of car
3) Push over edge
Just kidding, I actually like Toyotas. Not for ricing, but they do make a quality car.
Google "Celica Forum"
I just did it and it came up with quite a few forums. Best of luck. And congrats on the GMMG.
Also, I just googled celica performance and also got some interesting hits.

Toyota makes some awesome cars and motors, the GT isn't bad but a far cry from the GTS motor, same motor Lotus uses in the Elise.
I'm not sure how much the GT has as out as far as after market goes but I know the GTS has some aftermarket and it's now growning even more since Lotus snagged the GTSs motor.
At very least your lady has a stout little motor that will last.

bunch of non-toyota people around here...
with a 97 celica, I'd swap a 3sgte in it.... it is toyota's 2.0L turbocharged compact car motor. They are fairly cheap to mod. for a few hundred dollars, you can get 300 hp outta that lil sob. look into the mr2 forums about the engine... it came in the celica all trac's (gt-fours) and the mr2's.
you could try doing an all-trac swap, which means putting in the 3sgte and awd.

Not LsX related. Just get on a Celica forum and ask there.
