Need help with 4L60E conversion
I am installing a LS1 with 4L60E from a 2000 Camero in a 62 Corvette. I need an adapter to change the speedometer from an electric signal to a cable for my speedometer. Does anyone have any ideas besides paying the guys $500 for their adapters?
Has anyone else ever done this and if so what did you use.
Thanks in advance,
Wade

Thanks for your reply but I am new to the LS1 and the 4L60E so I really don't know what to tell you.
How would I find out what I have so that you may be able to help me?
Thanks,
Wade

If you haven't visited the Jags that run site, you need to. www.jagsthatrun.com I got the ideas for my LT1/4L60E speedo setup from them. Basically, you can use a B body tailshaft (Impala, Caprice, Roadmaster) which still had the large speedo drive gear hole and a large size VSS. You then relocate the VSS reluctor and place a speedo drive gear where it used to be. I did it the shadetree way 10 years ago by drilling a hole in the tailhousing for the new (smaller) VSS, wrapping a couple of layers of electrical tape around my relocated reluctor to set the sensor spacing and then used JB Weld to hold the sensor in place. They have parts available now to save some time and foolishness. Read this.... Great pics and details....
