New Dyno Numbers for the STS
To set this up i installed my sts kit about a year ago and had it tuned at 9psi it made 460hp 463ftlbs and the car seemed like it had TO MUCH turbo lag. So now that i had the chance and am temp stationed in texas i thougth i would take the car to billy at TRT. I am 100% happy with what he did...best money i have spent on this car so far!
Went to see billy at TRTturbo this past weekend to get a "little" work done on the car...after getting there i noticed i got my taxes back so i had them do a little more work and check out my tune (which we decided it would be best to touch up) So after wrapping the exhaust, remounting the turbo, lowering the boost 3psi, and having Dustin At TRT retune the car i ended up with......
This
MORE POWER WITH 3PSI LESS...and the car is 100x more responsive it feels like the power comes on right away and just gets better with the rpm's. Even if i start out at like 2500rpm and give it gas it does not feel "slow" like it used to. And he moved the turbo up way higher, its now where it should be! Here are some before and after pics of that.

Nice ride... good numbers too! I don't understand why lowering the boost would give you more power. Your fuel system can't handle the 3 lbs or is it just the tune? Sorry to sound like a noob.

We dont really want to go over 500rwhp on stock lower end motors. I know some do, but we usually stay on the conservative side. Mitch has a cam, t-67, 6 speed, so we lowered the boost to keep it at a resonable level. Plus, after looking at the tune, we knew it had much more in it.

like he just said we lowered the boost just to keep the motor safe...at 9psi with the cam and a good tune it would be well over 500...and i need my motor for a while. Besides 480hp is PLENTY for the street

Are wrapping the exhaust and retuning all you did? I see that you have a cam. Did you go with their custom turbo cam also. I would like to get somewhere around the same #'s you got when I install my sts turbo.
