Default Differences between LS1 & LS2 starters

I bought an LS2 crate motor and need a starter. None of the on line parts stores list starters for 2005+ Corvettes. Does anyone know what the differences are or why an LS1 starter wouldn't work on say a 2005 Corvette 6.0L? How about one from a later truck motor (since the pick and pulls don't seem to have many aluminum block motors still sitting in the car)

I originally bought a Summit Protorque starter for "LS" motors, but had to send that POS back. It bolted to the LS2 block, but the pinion only half engaged the flywheel teeth. Maybe it was just Summit's adapter but the starter seemed to be sitting 1/8th inch too far back. Plus the battery lug was on the engine side of the starter.

Thanks for any help
