Default Help

I have recently found a 1999 firehawk in my area with 41000 miles for 17950. I have a 2001 trans am ws6 with 37000 miles and considering selling it to buy the firehawk.

The hawk is red and number 312 out of 719 and has a lid, headers, and true duals.

Whats everyones opinion on selling my 01 to buy the 99 with more miles but alot rarer and if its a good trade off?

Keep the WS6, the hawks are more rare, but the WS6's actually bring in more $$$$$$$, plus the ls6 intake and the zo6 clutch that the hawk dont have. People go nutz for the steriod hood, and a hawk is only worth more to a collector if it has a few thousand miles on it. 40k is too many miles and the car will only get more miles as it gets older. Hell, saw a 01 nbm hawk vert go for $20k last month and it only had 13k miles!!! 6 speed too!!!

Most definately about the steroid hood lol. Thats what made me fall in love with the ws6 but if it was going to be a smart move I didnt want to let the hawk slip by.

thanks

Since you are asking I am wondering what is wrong with your car? Why trade down 2 years? It's not really faster than yours and even has a few more miles. I don't get it unless you just want to say you own a Firehawk.

My car has been t-boned and tore up pretty bad before I bought it. Its put back together perfect now and runs like new but has the salvage title.

Black WS6's are my favorite, but in your case since your car had been wrecked, maybe you should go ahead and get the Hawk. But IMO WS6's look nicer than Firehawks.

Get the Hawk, and only tell them yours was a repairable if they ask, or want a Carfax. If the title is clean and the carfax is too, then REALLY don't tell em

Honestly I think WS6s are nicer but the hawk grabbed my attention and with the wreck thing I had to get some other thoughts on it.

If your car is running fine then NO don't get the Firehawk that is older with more miles.

just wait....and you will know when a good deal comes along and you won't have to ask anyone about it....you will just FEEL it!

Good Luck with your decision!

I had a Hawk, traded it for a WS6 so you know where my loyalty lies. BUT.....I wonder how hard it would be to unload a "wrecked" WS6 compared to a older non wrecked hawk. Alot of people on here use the word "clean" and I always thought that meant title or looks good, BUT it actually means "not hit". I personally would never buy a "hit" car, as even with the smallest hit, things can get f'ed up down the road, (trans, frame, shaft) ect...lots of issues. I would say a "hit" car loses at least $5k in value not to mention how hard it would be to unload that sucker!!!! Salvage?? LOL is there even a question?? How many of u would buy a salvage car for $15k?

glad to see effort towards a fallen bird, as opposed to partin it out. keep your car, save for another later on.

Yea, I agree completely but I couldnt pass the thought of a "clean" hawk lol. I know the man who put my car back together through his son I go to school with and I know it was done right so dependability isnt a fear its just what I might be able to get out of it done the road whenever I decide I need to sell it but honestly Im not plannin on it unless its for another bird. Ill be honest and tell u at the time the book value on the WS6 was 20k but I got it for 13,800. The dealer said a salvage title drops like 25% of the value. It was the 25% off price that got me the car for my first car, if it had been 20k there would be no way.
