Default lm7 size

what is the size externaly dimessionly of the ls1 engines. how much room would i need to put a ls1 in a car? I have heard 26inchs. right now I have 28inch from frame rail to frame rail and 34 inchs from shock tower to shock tower. how tall to need. i will be using gto oil pan

i belive people have put them in the 3 series like in your sig.. if thats the car you are asking about. LSx motors fit in pretty much any engine compartment width wise.

from the drawings I have seen you should have room.. they state the width is 24.75" at the outer edge of the Head/Valve Covers and a few inches less down on the lower end.

This is the truck motors the car motors have shorter intakes and shallower oil pans, and the accessories don't stick out as much.
