It will be small for a 383.

I would suggest at least a cam in the mid 23X range. A cam that small will not make much power. With a mid 23X cam you will have a slight cam action and the car will make useable power throughout the rpm band. If you want a larger cam something along the lines of a F14 in a 346 I suggest something in the low 24X range.

Forged 383 block here , currently running the TR224/114. I'm making over 430rwhp and just as much torque. This is a very smooth and powerful setup!

That being said - my winter project is swapping out the TR224 for a larger cam.

My guess is its extremely street friendly and smokes them when ever you touch the pedal

Yes! It is absolutely street friendly, and romps on 'most' of the competition when needed.

I'm hoping to not loss too much of that smooth drivablilty with the larger cam. We'll see, I'd hate to have to swap cams out again.

how big are you going? I know I am running a 239 243 cam from Futral in my car. I daily drive it as well about 50 miles a day. it works perfect for what I want.
