Do you account for advance ground-in when calculating overlap?

Default Do you account for advance ground-in when calculating overlap?

My question is:
When calculating overlap of a given cam do you account for the advance ground-in?
Ex. Would a 230 230 cam on a 110 LSA have the same overlap as a 230 230 cam on a 110+4 LSA?

Or is the advance (or retard for that matter) relevant in calculating overlap?

They would have the same overlap, but the overlap of the +4 cam would occur more to the exhaust side of TDC.

What Patrick said about overlap. However, you might want to watch your DCR. Advancing +4 will change the DCR.
