Does anyone sell an airbox that fits the Raptor hood besides Suncoast creations? I don't really want to plunk down $300, but my lid is cracked and I do want to take advantage of the hood. I know it probably won't be a major seat of the pants difference, but I'm curious. I'd also like to see pics from people who have this installed, and what they think about the box.

Thanks,
Alex

Nope, its a Suncoast Creations hood, their airbox. You can buy it from some of our sponsors but I think its still the same price.

I have the hood but not their airbox. I've thought about it, but I'll stick with my MTI lid.

Peace,
Craig.

If you have a functional ramair/raptor airbox, you cant have an aftermarket lid?

The airbox is totally different, it's like a LT1 Firehawk / WS6 airbox. You replace the radiator support as part of the install, and it uses an LT1 part.

I actually took mine off and was considering selling it, but I'm having trouble finding one piece that is needed to complete the install. I took it off because the fitment of it is kind of a pain in the ass. I dunno what it is about my Formula, but my hood and stuff doesn't fit anywhere near as well as it did on my Trans Am.

It looks like this now... and I'm about to do the EGR/AIR delete and a header install.

What piece are you missing? I'd be very interested if we could track down what we need.

There's a little silver threaded piece that you tap down into the sheet metal under the core support so that the LT1 piece can be bolted down correctly. I know I have an unused one somewhere, I just can't figure out where it is. I suppose I could probably try to pull the one out of the sheet metal on my car, I just left it in there when I put the stock radiator support back on.

I also had to cut off the EGR "nipple" for 01-02 cars and make a hole on that side so that I could mount my IAT in the same location as the stock lid.

I bought a new one to replace my old one that was damaged in an accident before I bought the car... the new one was on the car for all of about 1000 miles before I took it back off, so it's practically brand new. The foam "seal" is from the old one.. Suncoast Creations decided to get cheap on people and started including some cheap ass air conditioner seal kit from Sears instead of the original form fitted seal.
