Question Weld Pro Question.

Hey hows it going guys. I have been thinking about getting some weld pro’s on my 99 z28 but wanted to know how much of a pain they are to make fit. I was thinking of getting 225’s or 235’s in the front ( don’t beat me up to bad for it) I don’t really care for a skinny in the front and these will really be more of a street setup then anything else. And prolly a 295 in the rear. Now is this something a tire place would do for me, to make them fit and what not? Or is it something I would have to do myself? Hey that’s for your help guys!

Most tire places wouldn't grind the calipers for you. For the front you have to run a skinny 15x3.5 Weld, Summit/Jegs wheel or 15x4 Centerline or Bogart. The Welds will require grinding of the calipers or longer studs with spacers.

Are you talking about putting prostars on all four corners and using it on the street? Or are you talking about just the rears for when you want to take care of business? If it is a daily driver I wouldn't go with pros. Some have used them and will say they are fine but they aren't really built for that.

Yea I was looking for pro's all the way around for the street. It's not a dd but still see a good amount of driving. I really would like them but it looks like I might not be able to do that.

They're a decent daily driver wheel. Not the lightest for drag racing, but not that expensive either. Most guys run a metric 165R15 or Mickey T. frontrunner on the front. On the rear, a 26" tire will work with no modification, a 28" like a 295 you listed will take a little massaging to fit.

Thanks guys, now I'm unsure of what I want to do. I like the look pro stars give the car and I LOVE the price from summit but I dont wanna run on a skinny. I didn't know you had too but now I guess I have to do some more thinking. If anyone know of a nice rim & tire package for $700 bucks let me know lol.

Well what if I went w/ a 17 x 9.5 w/ a 285 in the back. Would that fit with out "massaging it" lol? I would think about getting the oe concepts black zo6's. I just don't know how much I would like them on a black car.

Yea, those would fit fine. I'm not a big fan of black on black, but some guys love it.
