Seriously, you didn't noticed a marked difference in acceleration between the 3.42 to 4.10 gear swap?

4.10's woke my SS by 2 car lengths from light to light on the street.

Yep..........It felt about the same as adding my lid, and the lid was alot cheaper
it does pull the RPMs quicker, SOTP nope. Maybe I already had gears I dont know, when i bought it I was told it wasnt touched it seemed stock all the way to the paper filter?

and the reduction in gears like that, your clutch would slip more if you had 3.42s than 4.10s because of the load difference

You should definately feel it. When I put 4:10's in my 99 WS.6 the difference literally felt like a 50 shot. With 3:42's the car would spin second and chirp third. Nothing in 4th. With 4:10's it would spin 4th gear on a hard shift an entire city block. After I added a Mcleod clutch it would chirp 5th. However at the track all they did was cause major wheelspin out of the hole or break on Nittos and I was only around 320rwhp. Maybe you did already have gears. Did you keep the old ring and pinion?
