View Full Version : Where to buy resistors

I'm tryin to find somewhere to buy 220 ohm resistors for LEDs. I need probably about a 100 of them and I'd rather not go to Radioshack and pay 2 bucks for a pack of five when I see resistors go for a nickel a piece on the net.

Any recommendations?

Maybe Ebay??

I tried ebay but either I'm retarded at finding them or no one sells just 220 ohm. They're all either 470 ohm or a pack of all different kinds.

www.mouser.com is who I use for smaller orders
www.digikey.com for larger (or for stuff Mouser doesn't have)

www.partsexpress.com also sells stuff for cheap. I don't know if they're cheaper than mouser or digikey though.

They're not, but if you're not looking for a large volume of stuff, they'll do.

Both those sites just confuse me. I'm looking for the normal size resistors (I think 1/4watt???) for leds. Could someone lead me to a possible direct link for 220 ohm resistors or help me out?

Thats why he is not pursuing a career in electronics, but since you are his guidance counselor you already knew that.

Sorry, I just had to be a smart ass. :bang:

On the other hand, I have read a lot of your posts (including responses to some of my dumb questions) and you seem to know quite a bit about this type of thing, are you in some type of electronics field professionally?

Thanks punk ;) I'm still learning.

Thanks for the site, I didn't know there was such a thing as a resistor for 1.5 cents :eek2:

150 resistors for $2.25 :jest:

Thanks :) I went to a vocational high school for electronics (and if you'll excuse a little bragging, I was first in my shop and second in my grade as far as grades go). I'm not majoring in EE in college, but I know a decent amount for just hobby-related stuff.

I've always had an interest in audio, home, car, whichever it may be.
