i killed a bunch in my old grand national, none yet in the t/a. I've got some kid though that dumped like 6 grand into one talking shit on the t/a and ls1's in general. i told him id race from a dig and that he has the cutest chick car ive ever seen.
anyway, whats your experiences with these cars?

I've only ran a few. They were all stage 1 with wastegate, exhaust, intake, bov...
I beat them easily. But 6k into an srt is a lot. It can be a very sick car. You better watch out!!

I've riden in a Stage 2 and it was pretty damn quick. Like BayAreaSS said, 6k is a lot into an srt4 so yeah watch out.

stage 1 2 and 3 all use the factory turbo...and if he spent 6k on a rebuild...he put something in that engine other then factory parts...and it IS enough that IF he knows the right people, hes gotta a nasty turbo on there too for around 6,000 with the engine rebuild included.. id be careful with this kid, if what he says is true...its no joke. 6k into a rebuild can get you a LOT....

I actually raced him 3 times with the grand national before he blew it up, but the old GN i had went 11.5's in kill mode, so i was a huge shit talker when i drove that thing. even on a street tune.
funny thing is he blew the damn thing up trying to run to much boost so he could beat the GN(wasn't gonna happen). So he really has it out for me and my car. Now ive got the ls1 and i can't let him win...if i apply enough pressure before the race he'll miss a shift, hehe

you have a good chance from a dig, as long as he is on street tires. He will not hook for crap with street tires. I see them all the time at the track, even stock spinning like a mofo off of the line.

That is incorrect. Stage 3 is an upgraded turbo. Its small but upgraded nonetheless. They can be very quick with Stage 3. If you go from a dig you should be OK, but be careful from a roll.

I've raced a couple modded SRT's (not sure what was all done but they both said they weren't stock) And it was pretty even from a dig to about 70 mph and i started to creep away. If i launched hard i killed them from a dig through 1st and they pull a little to about my back bumper and at the upper speed's i start to pull again. Fast little cars for 4 cylinders:) i just hate most of the owners.~Cole~

Damn I hate most SRT4 owners, I take my Cobra to the dealership to get a free car wash, well the a salesman has to drive the car threw the wash. I give this guy the keys. Me "Be carful going threw the wash because the car is on DR and can get squirel fast." He replys "it's ok I own a performance car", Me "what is it?" "Oh a SRT4." Me, "Your SRT4 doesn't have 800rwtq"
He comes back and says "Damn you weren't joking" :gtfo:

my buddy has an srt4 that runs low 11's at the track on slicks, but on street tires it is totally worthless. so it just depends on the situation i guess.

$6,000.00 in mods is a lot for any car, I dont care what it is. I could buy forged internals and a Procharger for that much, and still have money left over.

A buddy of mine at work has one and its not slow. He keeps right up with me from a roll. With race gas, its a really fast car. There is another one around here that goes to the local car show that runs 11.79 with stage 3 setup and slipping clutch. 3rd gear in those cars is really strong, they're very dangerous from a roll if they have more than stage 1. Even with just stage 1, still very respectable cars.

Im a lil disappointed with the stock versions. raced one from bout an 60 mph roll and destroyed it but eh maybe he wasnt tryin couldnt hear his engine over mine anyway his girlfriend was laughin though. but as for modded ones they are quick as hell know a guy with an 11 sec one

i know of at least 4 11 second ones that run around my area, with a LOT of the others being in the 12s. Still a neon, but still impressive for a neon i suppose.

My friend has an srt4 with factory mopar stage 2 and only runs 14.0 at the quickest maybe 13.7s with a better driver.

Stock vs. stock, you can bust their ass! If your LS1 is any bit modified then you'll shove his ass up his mouth. But don't get me wrong...I have encountered a few that have been Stage 2 and 3'd and they can be potentially dangerous. But it takes a mad amount of goodies to make an SRT 4 walk an LS1.

They were designed for the arrogant teenage ricer and if they can even go fast at all its in a straight line. A Cobalt SS is a MUCH better car all around because bolt-alls make it quick, and it handles on par, if not better than BMWs. And it looks better, cause, well, it doesn't look like a crappy neon. Then again SRT4s don't think they own neons...

You may not like SRT-4's, thats fine. Everyone has their own views, likes/dislikes, thats ok. Look at the amount of power he is making, in case you havent checked, its ALOT. :eek2: To not like a particular model of car is one thing, but if its a fast car, atleast give him his respect and admit he has a fast car. I am a die hard GM fan thru and thru, but if there is another car out there that is fast, atleast give it some respect.

I ran an srt 4 the other day...didn't really know much about em...he was pulling off the race track onto the highway...I was just cruising back home from a friends...I have three adults in my car and he shoots up on me with his girlfriend in the car...said he wanted to roll from 40...I was like sure....He gassed about a second before I noticed he did...So I punch it...and walked like six car lengths..and upon shifting kept pulling away then at about 110 I left off...he was at least 15 car lenghts behind if not more...and my car is so out of tune...running rich as hell...and burning like a quart of oil anytime I hold it over 4k rpm for a few minutes...I truely smoked him...with twin clouds of black smoke....lol
