Default Turbo guys need help.

I have a PT 88 on a 402 anyway it's all new. I have really bad smoke problem with turbo. It is putting oil in the DP. I took the DP loose and foun the inside of DP is coated really bad in oil. Smokes like a train. This a brand new unit from Forced Induction. I have a -4 feed line running to the turbo and the drain is a -10 the drain is working fine. I was told by a friend that he new someone with same problem and they were told to restrict the oil feed line. Like with NOS jets until the smoke went away. Is this correct? I have never read anything about this. Any help would be much appreciated.

I had the same problem till I put a scavenge pump on it. No smoke now. Chances are its draining correctly.

How is your turbo mounted, high or low? And like Beasst, some guys run a scavenge to eliminate the problem.

it is mounted in front of the crank pulley alot like the OFI setup. The drain is working fine. I took drain loose and hardly any oil came out of it. If it was a drain back problem than it would go away when jacking up the front of car to check it.draining back.

Default Oil Smoke

I am running a gt42 with a 0.060 restrictor, it was the only thing that rid of my smoke (it is mounted very low with scavenge pump). I had the same problem, do a search with my name, alot of people chimed in with suggestions.

edit - did you say the oil does NOT drain from the turbo when you remove the oil downpipe?

edit: Was the car running when you tried this?

no the car wasn't running. If there was drain probs it would have had oil backed up in the drain.
