Default 110 LSA on highway ?

Does anyone have any warnings about running the ASA cam on the highway, will it surge and buck around (like many have told me) ?

if tune is good and running gears say 3.90 or higher. should be ok. w/ those gears I'd say needs tuning. .02

Won't be an issue on the highway but more in stop and go traffic.
Expert tuner would take care of that. Max gears I would go is 3.73:1

Is this only a problem with auto cars?

What are the rest of the cam specs???? bigger cam have more problems than smaller. LSA is just part of it.

ASA cam:
226/236 int/exh @ 0.05" duration
0.525" / 0.525" int/exh lift
110 LSA

Not much lift. Why the big duration on the exasht? I would cut the exh and go with a smaller LSA.

The GMPP's ASA cam is known for having a good tq curve and a nice choppy idle. I would personally say set up the gears to at least some 3.42's which you can get really cheap used since they are the stock gears for the M6 cars.

With this cam and stock 3.42's, I can cruise as low as 55mph in 6th gear with absolutely no problems. I only experience a little bit of cam surge if i try to cruise @ 1500rpms in 3rd or 4th gear, and even then its not bad at all.

imo G5x4....

my x3 on 110 dosent buck around on the highway.. only time it really does is when you are going down hills or sometimes when you let off the gas when its locked up. its not a big deal at all and you wont notice it.

My 110 is very streetable. It was spec by Bret Bauer. Had a 112 that bucked and surged. A lot seems to be in the tune.

I think the attractiveness of this cam has to do with the lazy lobes. Other than that, I can't see why anyone would want to run one.

Actually, the attractiveness of this cam (to me at least) is the flat torque curve it has (check my dyno graph). Also I like the fact that I made good #'s without having to turn high rpm's. As an added benefit, I can run LS6 springs which are cheaper and wont have to be changed as often, and I have a killer lope!

That cam does have a nice torque curve I will admit.

I wonder what kind of numbers I would get with my AFR heads?
