Default this may sound dumb

i there are the pinout diagrams that show exactly what wire and colr of said wire are for, ......................but what if you have plugs left over and dont know what they go to? i have searched and cant figure out what some of my plugs go to. like this one in the picture.

is this an air intake temp sensor plug or something? its either tan and blue or tan and purple, cant tell if the purple faded to blue or vise versa.

so how can i figure out what the plugs i have left go to?

Do you have the service manual (read: NOT Haynes or Chilton) for the pinout diagrams?
If Yes: There are also precise drawings for every plug.
