Default egr removal

Question, what all is needed to make the egr removal procedure complete when buying new non-egr headers? will it throw codes? is this safe for stock motors?
If codes are thrown will you need a tune?

Very simple, you will need:
-plug for the intake
-someone w/tuning software to turn EGR codes off
It will continue to throw EGR codes if they are not turned off, but performance will not be affected.

Not sure bout that one...my car would not go into closed loop with the EGR removed, causing poor throttle response and shitty mileage. All was well once it was disabled in the tune.

Whats involved in removing the air system? Also, since I'm undecided about choosing types of headers, would it be easier to just go with the EGR compatible
headers?

first off do you still have stock manifolds on your car? if you already have aftermarket ones just go to speedinc and buy their no egr/air kit its like 20 bucks. it will throw codes just get a tuner and delete them removal of the egr and air system is easy.

yup, still with the stock manifolds.I will be ordering headers soon, mostly likely choosing the "race" style headers. From what I hear it is o.k to run the motor with codes thrown after header installs. Correct me if I'm wrong. Reason I ask is I'm not sure I can get a tune immediately.

yea you can run your car with out tuning them out but you should get them taken out if you can,ran my car for the hole summer without taking the codes away, just get the race style headers give you a little more room to work with also.
