Well after lurking in the shadows for a long while, I thought it time to finally make my membership "official" by registering here on the forum. I've already found LOTS of great info, and I look forward to taking part in some of the conversations.

I have loved F-bodies for a long time, but only bought one ('77 T/A project car) a couple of years ago. I did some work on it, but I came to the realization quickly that it didn't really fit with my goals. I wanted to work on engine/drivetrain stuff mostly, and this car needed everything besides that more urgently. So, even though I wasn't looking for it, I came across a deal the other day on a '97 Camaro RS (v6). The body and interior are not perfect, but far from being in desperate need of repair. The guy selling it said that the engine had seized up, and he was only asking $1500 as-is. I figured it wouldn't hurt to check it out. Two days later, it's sitting in my garage, right next to the '77... which I'll now have to sell of course.

I'll be posting more details on the Camaro as well as some questions pertaining to my plans for it in the other "regular" forums. So, if you're interested you'll probably find me in the newbie tech or engine swap forums. See ya there!

David

welcome, 1500 bucks sounds a bit steap for a 97 six'er. better be in good shape with lower miles. Got mine for 8 and it's in like new condition.
