Default Transmission Bushing????

Hi i recently got my 4L60E rebuilt, and the guy who rebuilt it advised me to replace the "Bushing that sits on the back end of the transmission where it connects to the Torque Arm" thats the best description i can think of. he told me the name but i can no longer remember... If anyone can tell me the exact name of the part and where maybe i could find a Performance version of it so it will hold up. Thanks....

That would almost have to be the tail housing bushing. Most transmisson shops will have some spares sitting around. A lot of shops don't replace them on a stock rebuild because they don't usually have very much wear.

Ah, thats right, the torque arm does have a bushing in it. I forgot about that one. I'm not used to dealing with f-body stuff.

Ask the guy who rebuilt your trans, which bushing he's talking about. If your builder was talking about the tailshaft bushing, change it out soon since it can crack your tailshaft, happened to me Now I have a polyurethane one in it's place. Here's what the tailshaft bushing looks like:

And here's the torque arm bushing

Both are on Speedinc's website in the transmission section.

The top pic is the transmission mount.

The tailshaft bushing looks like a cylindrical metal sleeve.

The bottom pic is the torque arm bushing (as stated).

Oh thought they were the same. The transmission mount is what broke on mines (2 pieces) figured that's what his builder was talking about.
