Yes, I found out a little about the different processes. apparently they also use this coating on aerospace type parts so they last. I'm having a diffacult time finding anything out about coating wheels.

Just call a company that does it and ask them. It would be a lot faster than asking on here waiting for some one who knows to respond. This is probably such a niche modification that few if any will konw about it to advise you.

This plasma coating thing had me intrigued so I did a google search and found some guy who had his stock GTO wheels plasma coated. Maybe you can shoot him an e-mail.
