if i get my trans am tuned will a slp maf work with that or will it mess up the tune? also does anybody know how to tell the difference between the 98-00 vs the 01-02? I have 2 of them and i don't know what years the one is for.

You should call the local tuner, because the ones that are around hear wont even tune a car without the stock maf in it. I am not sure but i think all the years are the same, but I could be wrong.

I'd leave it alone. When you hit the upper 400rwhp area, your stock MAF MIGHT be thinking about holding you back.

last post was correct. I'd call SLP. there should be a skew# on the neck next to one of the 2 insert teeth. I have an SLP 85mm MAF and I think I remember seeing one there. If anything look up SLPonline.com and look up the MAF. When you look it up it should say 98-00, 01-02 or 98-02 on it! That will give you atleast one answer alone!

IMO the SLP MAF is not worth the headaches. Tons of people have found it hard to tune. You're better off with the PACEPARTS z06 MAF if you want to upgrade. No extra tuning required.

I went through one SLP MAF (I have another one now)but that was my fault. (tried to descreen it like a douche bag and fudged it up),...I've never had tuning issues with it tho.
