Default Question for those who painted your TTIIs....

A buddy of mine just bought a used set of polished 17x9.5 & 17x11 TTIIs for his 97 Z28. He wants to have the centers painted black to match his car. Being a polished wheel, what kind of prep work should have to be done, just scuff and paint right? Did you clear the whole wheel or just the painted part? Is there a "lip" where the painted/cleared section ends and the polished section begins?

Thanks, Shawn

Sand the are to be painted with fine sand paper, ore even a scouring pad. Mask off the area and spray with primer, paint and clear of choice.

I have had great results using Dupli-Colors Engine Enamels, easy to work with and have all the primers, color coats and clears he'd need.
