Default So I got my Air Bag Light scanned and...

Well I finally took my car to get the airbag light scanned, they said the problem was the Airbag Light Module, which the mechanic said was like a 400$ part.

I thought it was probably my Clock-Spring but I guess not, Does anybody have more knowledge about this that could help me out? I have never heard of a problem with the Airbag Light Module.

thanks in advance

If he called it a light module then he is a dumb *** and you need to take it somewhere else. It is called the SRS Derm module and it contains the electronics to determine whether or not to deploy the bags based on the severity of a crash. Very seldom do they just die unless it has a latched code for airbag deployment. But a 94 has a reusable module that does not latch a code in the even of a deployment. However, the fact that it is thirteen years old anything is possible.

It's behind the glovebox on the right side. Pull the glovebox out and it has a yellow harness with an orange cpa tab. Pop the tab up depress the tang and slide the harness out unclip the the DERM and slide in the new one reverse procedure. When you start it if the airbag light goes out then he was right. If he was wrong it will still be on and then something else to find. Ask him what code it had in it that he determined it was the DERM module.

But from time to time they do die.
