Default P.T.V. Clearance on a LS1. Am I pushing it?

I have a LS1 with a stock bottem end. I'm putting LS6 heads that will be ported and polished only, stock valves and no milling done. Plus a TSP Torquer V2, rocking a set of Crane Cam shaft mount roller rockers 1.7:1. I ordered a pair of Cometic .040 head gaskets. Am I safe, or will I need to have the pistons flycut? I know im safe with stock GM gaskets which I have, but I am always looking for more.

I'd think you'll be alright. For peace of mind, it's best to measure.

The thinner gasket will raise the CR.

the .040 gasket takes away ptv but you should be okay. be careful though because aftermarket rockers are true ratio while stock have a tendency to not always be accurate.
