Question No Clue what this could be?

Im hoping that someone could tell me what they think could be happening to the clutch. Trying to get it figured out before I pull it out of storage.

Here are the examples of what happens

When I am at WOT and I put the clutch in and shift say from 2-3 or 3-4 it seems like the clutch doesnt want to pop back up, I have to manually lift it back up with my foot from underneith.

Next example is when Im stopped, gear is in neutral, I rev it up put the clutch in, and it doesnt release back up. Or same thing like Im in first gear, at a stand still, clutch in and rev, release the clutch, it doesnt release.

What do you think it could be, or what is going on. Im stumped, but Im leaning on a pressure plate or maybe the peddal is just sticking. Im not sure. I need some help. Thanks for all the help.

mine was the slave cylinder. so i replaced it with the supposed updated slave. and it still would stick sometimes (rarely) so i replaced the master cylinder and now the thing is perfect. i had the exact same problem.

Really, that is interesting! Did you end up doing it yourself or did you take it somewhere? I thought about this but didnt expect it to be this. Its funny cause the guy I bought the WS6 off of was an older guy and he never got on it he said, so I knew it wasnt abused, and it did it right from the start when I got it. Did you use OEM parts or did you go aftermarket. What was the updated slave, AC delco parts?

Thanks guys for all the help. I think Im going to try the easiest thing first and see if bleeding the system works first. If it doesnt Ill replace the master cylinder. Do you think it would even be worth getting a new clutch/pressure plate or not. I plan on doing Heads/Cam in the near future? Thanks again for all the help.

I Would Think About A New Clutch. If You Are Going To Do A H/c Soon. The Pedal Sticking, Is You Need A New Master. Then You Need To Do The Drill Mod And Bleed It Good. That Will Take Care Of Your Problem.

Get one from NAPA. It doesnt come with a new resivor or braided line but you can reuse the old resivor and braided line. It only costs $50 and has a lifetime warranty. I replaced mine last week. Just make sure you get the one for a 2001 or 2002.

Also make sure your braided line is as far from your headers as possible.

Yes it is ok. I have a 1999 and I put a 2002 clutch master cylinder in mine. 2001 and 2002 are updated versions. They just work better thats all.
