So i bought a set of four 3-ton ac delco jack stands. They looked pretty cool at the store and i was excited.

I get home and realize that the tops of the stands are pretty wobbly. The bases are sturdy but the part the car sits on wiggles. Also, i dont like the notch mechanism, it seems that if something bumps the lever upwards, the car will drop.

I am just a bit skeptikal because before i used a set i had burrowed from my uncle, they were old school but very sturdy and you had to slide something through some holes to lock them in place so they were a bit more assuring.

Am i good with using the delcos?

you had walmart syndrome lol...you wont have any problems of the car lowering on you because once there is weight on the lock, you cant bump the lever loose.

Yeah, those stands are the kind I've been using for ages. They are a lot more convenient then the ol' pin in the hole stands when it comes to getting a more precise height.

Sweet! I guess you could say walmart (got em at murrays) syndrome, but then again, even the expensive ones at sears are similar.

I use a similiar pair like the AC's on the rear end of my car on the axle tubes. I have a different pair I use that are wide and flat under my front subframes. I rock the car back and forth to test if they are properly centered before I go under the car. Hope this helps.

There is nothing wrong with those jack stands..I have seen the delcos before at the Oreilly parts store and they are good quality..I've been using those type of stands for over 30 years..they are much better than the pin through the hole type .. :)

i almost bought a set of those, but i decided to get some at sears.

and like said, once the weight of the car is on the stand theres no way your gonna get it to go down

They look fine to me. I have seen some I would not use before.

I got a pair at walmart that appear to be the same as those ac delco's,but mine are red and black and say GM Goodwrench.I've never had a problem with them.

i have similar ones i've been using for 13 years. they don't move at all once weight is on them. and i've had my 7400# dually up on them before.

same ones I have at the house... i used to use them on my Ram 2500 diesel 4x4 crew cab..... I was kinda scared of them at first but after holding that big heavy ass truck I think any car is fair game

their safe, i've used them before. When I bought jackstand I bought the biggest mofos I could find. They're like 12 ton MAC's that must weight over 30lbs a piece. They have a minimum height of ~12 inches. I really wanted something I wouldn't have to worry about...
