I CAN'T DECIDE: Cam or not to Cam?
Please see this thread! Putting heads in this year is out of the question.

Your help is greatly appreciated. I only put on about 5000 miles a year and would like to frequent the track more.

Yeah, it's not like you're going to have to redo everything when you do the heads. You won't have to touch the front of the motor other than taking the PS crap off the drivers side head, so its not like its that much more work.

I just picked up some 243 heads off an '07 Vette for $350. Find a deal like I did, port them yourself and do a cam as well, all at once. My car goes under the knife in 4 months. All I need is a cam and header/ORY package from TSP as well as a tune and things should get interesting.

If you aren't comfortable doing the install, have the cam done now. Then you have a year to read up on how to swap the heads yourself. That should be much easier to do on your own. No tearing down the front of the engine and pulling the balancer, no need to degree, etc.
Just check the valve drop on the heads with any milling to be sure you are not reducing PTV clearance when you swap. The money you save in labor can go to a better heador a Fast 90/90 combo. AFR 205's actually have more valve drop after milling than stock un-milled heads, so I recommend that route.

STOP. STEP AWAY FROM THE CAR, TURN IN YOUR MAN CARD, AND GO BUY A VOLKSWAGEN If THIS IS THE CASE.
