anyone? i remember when i was reinstalling the map sensor into the fast manifold it went in loosly? on my original ls6 intake, the map sensor had a little bracket to hold on to so it was secured in the manifold... would this be the problem?

It may have popped out. What you can do is go to the stealership and buy just the little rubber part that's on the MAP sensor. The sensor itself is like $90, but the rubber piece is only like $5. It will fit MUCH better after this.

Make sure it's plugged in right too.

ya its plugged in right unless the connector is capable of being plugged in upside down? i cant see it but it went in fine. and the map sensor itself is still in the manifold so it didnt pop out. but yea i will go down to the stealership monday as i do need a few things.

you can get the map sensor @ autozone and switch the rubber piece off that one then return the part you bought because they are dumb.... Dont run the car like that though.

ok so i finally got around to pulling my old MAP sensor out for inspection and when i did it was wet!? like the tip that is inside the manifold was wet with what smelled like gasoline....is this normal? what would have caused my map sensor tyo get soaked in gas inside of the intake manifold?

anyone?....so i figured the only way this can happen is through the EVAP system which plugs into the front of my manifold....but last i heard it wasnt supposed to release this much gas to cause my MAP sensor to fail right?

Your EVAP system should only be releasing vapors, so I'd discount that one.
