Gears & Axles - $500 for gear install?

a local shop quoted me $500 parts and labor to install 373s in my car,is this a good deal??

If you are serious about big power adders and super sticky tires. But bolt ons and nittos or bfgs why worry?

In NY they charge $350 for install.

Mine was including the gear. New bearings fluids anti slip the whole 9 yards.

Including new parts, all of 'em, not bad.

I think I paid $400 for installing 3.42s (used), T2-R and a
full replacement of all moving parts (master rebuild kit, hard
pinion spacer, etc.) exclusive of all the parts cost. At a
dealership's speed shop. Couple of years ago now.

Your kidding right ? You dont have to have sticky tires or big power to break a 10bolt ! i say save your money and buy something you know you will never break :judge: Just my .02$

i was going to get charged 350-450 depending if i went with a solid pinion spacer for my 10 bolt.

yes it does,I have a 93 so I have to change the speedo gear in the transmission

i paid $500 labor about 4 years ago i already had the gear and girdle and no speedo recalibration
