How to tell if cam sensor and crank sensor are bad??
My car has been not been wanting to start. It will turn over, but it wont start. Yesterday I disconnected the crank sensor checking the wires out which looked fine and was bumping around the cam sensor and the other connection in the rear of the intake. After I reconnected the crank sensor and starter, the car started right up. Then 20 minutes later, it wont start.
It seems like when Im bumping around the sensor's or unplugging them and then reconnecting them the car starts, but only for that one time. Then it wont start again.
Any ideas????

When my crank position sensor failed, the car would start but it would miss or buck a lot at WOT. Maybe they just aren't in sync and you need to perform a relearn. After I replaced my crank sensor, the car still wasn't right until after the relearn. Has your tach done anything strange? Mine would drop to zero while driving down the road when the sensor was failing.

stupid me forgot to plug the cam sensor in and my tach wasnt even working so I plugged the cam sensor in and the tach seems to work fine now. I havent driven it yet. Ill say when the car did start yesterday it idled perfect and revved really good. but after I shut it off it wouldnt start again. we checked all the fuses and they were good.

Ok I found out Im NOt getting spark. We checked both sides of the motor. The wires & plugs are new. My uncle who is a mechanic for 25 years is telling its the crank sensor.
The funny thing is I installed only 1 plug yesterday and checked it for spark and it showed I was getting spark and when I installed all the plugs and hooked up everything the car started right up. Somehting is screw up and is not getting spark all the time.

I had a something like that happen last year on my 402 setup. My tuner turned off VATS and it started right up and it has been fine since. This might not help you but it's worth a shot.
