i bought an aftermarket one where do you put the pieace that goes into the engine? i have a 00 z28.....

There's a spot on the back of the passenger side head, or you can drop the starter and take out the plug there. Do a search, there's some write ups on it floating around.

You can also drill and tap the thermastat housing and mount it there. I ended up just using the passanger side head, it seemed to be the easiest solution.

I bought a T-fitting from Lowes and did a dual purpose water temp sending unit mount/throttle body bypass. It was easy and simple.
