Default Need info on these cams...

I'm looking for a cam thats going to make some great power with a nice lobe to it, but not kill the mid range as I want to stay with the stock 3.42's. Mods on the car will be LT's, Y-pipe, catback (not sure of the exact ones yet), Whisper lid, FAST intake, and a good tune after the cam install.

The cams I have been looking at to fit my desires are the G5X1, MS3, MS4, T-Rex, and XE-R cams. If anyone has any suggestions with details that would be great. Video's would really be ideal if anyone has anything like that.

Thanks in advance.

with 342 gears you can forget about the ms3,ms4 and trex..the g5x1 would be a good choice out of what you have..

Is that just becuase the MS3, MS4, and T-Rex kill your mid/low range too much?

If you want your car to run well you need different gears like 4.10

Which cam all depends on your plans for your car. Is your car a DD or will you be hitting the track much?

yah t-rex and gears like that need big gears and they are not that good with low mid range. they are top end cams.

Although it will be taken to the track a handfull of times a year, it will mostly be a DD. Yeah, I'm not looking for a strick top end cam only.

Then definitely forget the TREX...I have the Version 2 and it really doesnt start to pull till around 4200rpms. I am actually about to swap mine out to get a more usable power band. My car isnt a DD, but I drive it alot, 4 times a week maybe...and it will see the track as much as it can, but i work alot so that wont be alot. I love how the TREX pulls up top, its a true animal, but I want something a little easier to drive around on, and makes more usable power. You will definitely not want anything bigger than say a G5X2, and that is pushing it a little.

You should change your rear-end regardless.
