Corvette Performance - Is an upgrade to a Meziere Water Pump worth the $$$???

Before I spend $600 on a water pump is the electric pump that much better than the stock unit? My original pump developed a small leak and will be replaced with either another GM pump or the Mezeire unit. I know the merits of the pump as far as HP is concerned has been hotly debated so I'm not expecting much in the way of RWHP but do they flow better which will keep the car cooler? I've been told by my very reputable tuner that the Mezeire is more for race cars than street cars and my car is definitely a street car :drive:

well i installed one on my lt1 camaro -- and it ran much cooler.. in traffic and all.. - i guess it because its allways pumping at one speeed.-- frees up rotating mass... ..its all on you..

Not going to be worth the $$$ for the HP it frees up, but definately worth it on the Gas Mileage improvement. Especially when you get the EWP and a UD pully done at the same time. Can see 5-7 mpg improvement on the eway. I do by setting the cruise at 80 in 6th gear.

Car never got above 199 degrees on a 103 degree day stuck in bumper to bumper traffic with the a/c on high. I love my Meziere.

Good for cooling, not so good (hp to $ ratio) for power junkies.
