Default again with the noises!!!

ok. i'm gonna try again to get an answer to this noise question. i finally figured out how to reproduce the sound. if i push the clutch in, with the car in gear, and rev to about 3k, it makes like a growling sound up front. once the revs drop back down, it goes away. gear engagement if fine, other that than a slight vibration when it DOES make the noise. but like i said, if i'm driving easy, it doesn't do it. i'm just trying to figure out what this could be. i'm leaning towards the TO bearing. i just changed the whole clutch assembly. FW, clutch, TO bearing, PP, everything is new. any ideas? i'm on this one!!!!

thanks in advance,
bill

Did you change the pilot bearing. The one inside the crank? Did you put in the bearing style or the bushing style?

Yeah it could be the pilot bearing....the "slight vibration" is what makes me think this.

changed that too. talked to spec. said they think it could be loose PP bolts or something about the retainer spring on the slave...still don't know for sure.

if it was the pilot bushing, why would it only make the noise at 3k+ rpm?
