Default Repaint the TA...

Most of you have all seen the car, the body is in great shape, just the paints starting to show some age and beginning to fade in a few spots. May need a new front nose cover as well just due to chips and stress cracks. Generally what would I be looking at spending to get the car repainted, it wont need any body work, it isnt wrecked at all. Generally for a good paint job, back to the factory red, what should I be looking at?

It'll all boil down to what brand of paint. Red is costly. Sikkens, PPG, Dupont. Those are the only ones you should use. A couple coats of clear should make it look real nice.

Alright guys, no candy paint, no flakes, no curb feelers, no swangers, no vouges, no hittin switches in the lo lo, no 20 inch Daytons to get my Pontiac skating, no drippin paint on scott street, no candy red to wet peoples flames.

Basically want it to look as clean as to when I first got it and I'll be happy. I want some thing as good as the factory paint job. Been trying to gauge a good estimate of what I need to save up. The paint is still in good shape for age, probably well above average, but get up close and its not all that great as it once was.

Here is a good idea:

You can see paints still shinny but is showing some age.

For a no friends discount at your average shop you will be from 2500-3500 out the door with a full professional strip and paint. By strip I mean pull the hood, front fascia, hatch, door weatherstrip and jambing it to.

Does that usally cover new weather stripping or do they reuse the old ones?

Most of the time they will reuse the old stuff. The door weather strip is about 175 a piece and the trunk strip is 75 best I remember from last year when I ordered it all for my car.
