I'm getting ready to purchase my heads and cam for my car once the trans issue is taken care of. I might be able to get a good deal on a TSP 231/237 cam. The car will be mostly street driven, want 420+ rwhp and might see a few track runs. My question is will this cam give me what I want? I'm thinking MTI Stage 2E, Patriot Stage 2, or TSP 5.3 Stage 2 heads for my set up. Kind of new to heads and cam so would like some Good edvice on what I should use in my set up. TIA

The car I mentioned also had a NX single nozzle kit, did 527hp on the bottle. The drivability is excellent if tuned correctly. His starts right up idles fine and runs real good.
I ran that cam in my stock headed motor for a long time with a NOS wet kit and I was cutting 11.2's on the bottle.

This is my friends setup. This is about 2 years old, so the newer version heads will yield better numbers. It is an 99 M6 with stage 3 cartek clutch and all supporting bolt-ons. He was dynoing on ZR1 17x11 wheels also.
These were his exact words;
"The cam is a 231 237 .595 .598 @ 112. I have the patriot stage II heads.
It made 417 rwhp and 390 torque. On 150 it made 592 rwhp and 660 torque. All throurgh my 9" with 389 gears."
Hope this helps ya out

also did you install straight up (dot to dot) no advance, or retard? i'm right about the 11.3-11.5 CR at the moment after installing these heads and my current tune back in early jan of this yr...

I run a very close cam to what you're going to use. Mods are in sig with the number I put down. No flycutting was required and driveability is great. I had an auto with the same mods and it still drove great. Just depends on how good your tuner is.

great cam. I got mine from Comp Cam, here is set up. 231/237 .589/.595 112 +4 not sure what dif from TSP. PP LS6 S2 2.02in 1.57ex 59cc, stock size gasket. 418rwhp/389rwtq, m6, 3.42 . still running stock intake, tb, pully. no fly cutting, installed straight up. I'm sure with underdrive pully, roller rocker up grade, 90/90 setup can make 445/450 rwhp with good tuner.

I am running this combo of 231/237 114, and patriot stg II 5.3's. I bought the car with the H/C, and the owner told me that he milled the heads "As far as they could go, without the valves touching the pistons." I made 396hp/365tq with these mods:
MAC midlengths
TSp 3" OR Y-pipe
Magnaflow
Lid, SB, ported stock TB, LS6 intake
tune, LS7 clutch, 30#, 255lph
I plan to do a cutout and an UD pulley next, then look into LT's, FAST 90/90 and then some spray. The car was tuned for 50* weather in illinois, and then I moved to california where it is above 70* all the time. so I am also looking to get hp tuners. I will keep the forum updated on the results. I am hoping to get more power out of this combo, cause Im sure it can do more. Later, and good luck.

Yeah I'm not realy sure what the difference between Comps 231/237 and TSP's 231/237 cam is except on the tsp's the lift is just a tad bit higher. The guy I'm getting the cam from ran it on a 98 ls1with AFR 205's with 59cc chambers and did 435rwhp and 410wrtq without some of the mods I'm adding to the setup. So I'm hoping for better than that. Is it any harder to tune for a 112 lsa than a 114 lsa? I know the 112 is going to sound meaner, any performance difference?
