Default Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40

Is this the exact same oil as the Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 5W-40? I know the label was switched, but were there any changes made to the oil? Thanks!

It is the same oil. It is also marketed as Delvac 1.

Good info. I've seen the M1 diesel 5W40 but wasn't sure about it. Might give that a try if I ever tire of the 0W40......

That's what I was thinking, but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks again!

that's what i'm running now. i used to have GC 0W-30, but i decided to give M1 5W-40 a try. the oil pressure at initial startup is a little higher, but the GC 0W-30 delivered a little more oil pressure at idle and cruise once the car warms up. the valvetrain noise seems to be the same on each. we'll see what analyses on them both have to say.

I have that in the Camaro now and will be getting a UOA when I wake it up this spring. I'd like to see how well it's done before I put in the GC I found.

I found some pre-change-to-GpIII Pennzoil Platinum, too, that I'd like to see how it works.

It should be interesting.

Maybe I'll try some 5w-20 for 1k to see if anything happens... That ought to be a good conversation starter, eh?
